Merlin's New OnCover Platform puts Brokers in Control
26/10/2009
New technology exclusive to Merlin enhances its Total Claims Management Solution
Merlin Professional Claims Services has launched OnCover, an internet-based claims management system to offer greater transparency to all parties, and especially brokers, throughout the claims management process.
The latest in a significant ongoing investment in new technology, OnCover is designed specifically for underwriters, brokers and their policyholders as Merlin Chief Executive Richard Webster explains: “OnCover is exclusive to Merlin, and offers complete transparency throughout the claims management process with real time access to information from first notification of loss through to final settlement.
“This new web-based platform signals a further change for the industry and fits with our strategy of delivering a Total Claims Management Solution (TCMS), ensuring our highly skilled professionals are supported by the best and most relevant technology.”
OnCover provides real times access to files either directly, or remotely, from one central point and can track claims (or groups of claims) with regular e-mail updates as the need/audience dictates. It also delivers such features as measured workflow via diary and task management, and instant access to Bordereaux and Management Information. Payments can be processed using combined Microsoft and Sage Accounting technology.
“Whether you are the underwriter, the broker or their customer, service and controlling costs are paramount,” Richard continues, “and OnCover shows how these two squares are being circled.
“We are committed to reducing costs and cycle times, and with a web-based claims management system these savings become more tangible “
The introduction of OnCover follows soon after the implementation of Xactware – a platform which has quickly proved itself in cutting indemnity spend on property related claims by improving the speed and accuracy in which repair costs are estimated and reported to the insurer.
